getting ORA-3135 and also ORA-3134 simultaneously [message #326086]

hi,

when we are working with "QUICK SCREEN tool ", we are facing one error like " oracle not connected " and "connection lost contact errors" although the oracle is running.

when we got this error, we checked with DBA whether oracle is down?
but oracle is in running state only. please let me know the solution for this error. we checked listner file also. it is also seems good.

ORA-03134: Connections to this server version are no longer supported.
 *Cause:  An attempt was made to connect to an Oracle server of older
          version.
 *Action: Please refer to documentation for more details.

ORA-03135: connection lost contact
 *Cause:  1) Server unexpectedly terminated or was forced to terminate.
          2) Server timed out the connection.
 *Action: 1) Check if the server session was terminated.
          2) Check if the timeout parameters are set properly in sqlnet.ora.

Your product/Oracle client does not support the version of the database you are trying to connect.

please update me..

i checked the parameter file also. there also everything are fine.
Same environment is created for another machine. that working fine but with present machine, we are getting this type of errors.

but only sometimes the error is coming not always.

If that is the case which you mentioned below, it won't connect to oracle permanently. But we are getting this error at some instance of time only. Please let me know how to proceed further. Embarassed

I can't.
Not supported does not mean that it fails necessarily at each time but that it will/may/might fail.
Investigate on this point and come back.
