Can you tell me the difference between differential incremental and cumulative incremental backup in RMAN ?

Hi Michel,

Differential incremental backup takes more time & resources to produce; but less effort to restore.
Cumulative incremental backup takes less effort to produce; but more effort to restore.

Request you to correct my understanding if it is wrong.

As of Thursday, January 2, the first message of this thread showed up vebatim at www.dbametrix.net/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1599
On Friday, January 3, it was observed that the second message in this thread was add, verbatim, to the thread at dbametrix.

I have observed quite a number of threads at dbametrix that are verbatim copies of threads from orafaq, OTN forums, and others.

This one I seem to have caught 'in progress'. I full expect to see a few more messages from this thread to start showing up at www.dbametrix.net/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1599

I have already been banned from the forum at dbametrix, apparently for pointing out this plagiarism.

It will be interesting to note if they copy any more from this thread before they see this posting ...

Just now, I see a third addition to the above mentioned thread on dbametrix ...

"kimipatel" has essentially copied msg 604513. Just enough change to indicate they are doing the copy by hand, but not enough to hide what they are doing.

And apparently not reading the full thread before copying .. to see that they have been exposed. Or maybe they have so little shame they really don't care.
