with respect to licensing

is it okay to temporarily install oracle on another box for a few days, to test backups

or are there licensing restrictions on this?

I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem. Nevertheless, it would be best to ask your Oracle Sales Rep - just to make 100% sure.
