Hi Folks,
we have a big problem restoring a big Database. For Backup/Recovery we use HP Data-Protector 5 with Oracle RMAN.
We want to recover the DB to a new location on server (auxiliary). The Archicve Logs are saved with Archive save&delete not during the DB-Backup.
Backup needs 30 mins to back up the database. Recovery needs 7 hrs to restore and fails on recovery in case of missing the needed scn. We need to restore the archived files during a second session.
Did anyone have better way to restore, because 7hrs+ is too long for our customers.
regards
Uwe
