hi all
i'd like to know how much time will be taken to export 1gb data from a oracle server (sun solaris) and also same like importing (linux) tooo...any calculation to make this effort, pls let me know

Hi,
There is no way anybody can tell you how long it will take to do an export/import. There is just too many unknowns - Server Utilization, CPU Speed, Disk Speed, Kernel Parameters, Type of Filesystem used, Disk Fragmentation, Oracle Parameters, Data Structures, Database Fragmentation, etc.
Best would be to test it to get the actual timing for your system, and base your calculations on that.
