I'm looking at the BUFFER parameter associated with the IMPORT command. I've found this statement in a document :-

The following formula gives an approximation of the buffer size thats inserts a given array of rows "buffer_size = rows_in_array * maximum_row_size".

Not sure what rows_in_array is. Does this mean the actual number of rows in a table? If so do i calculate the value for the buffer_size based on the largest table we have?. I need to speed up the IMPORT (i've already looked at doing the indexes separately).

We're using Oracle 8i on a Sun platform (Solaris 8).

Thanks.
