hi experts
When i doing the switchover whether i have to keep 2 parameter files in production and standby dbs (For primary and secondary role) or i have to keep one parameter contains all these values.When i have to do this switchover i have to comment the log_Archive_Dest_2 .Am i correct or no.pls hlp

Hi,

Quite correct. If you don't want to make parameter changes after failing or switching over, you can use a different parameter file for each of the database roles (primary and standby).

Alternatively, consider using the new syntax introduced in 10g:

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_x = "... VALID_FOR=database_role"
