Hi All,

I have to restore one (test)db from the tape to the server, n this particular server already running 3 Production instances.

Now as i think (correct me if am wrong)
to restore i need to shutdown the db, but as the system01.dbf file is missing the db is not shutting down..and gives the error
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
SVR4 Error: 2: No such file or directory

and there is no files in the server slice (/usr07) but still its showing 73% used....i know once i reboot the server it will be 0% but coz its running production db instances, i cant do that.

kindly let me know now wht should i do...how to restore the tape backup n bring the test db up....
tx in advance
plz reply soon.

A "SHUTDOWN ABORT" should solve the problem. If it doesn't, you need to schedule a server reboot.

Best regards.
