From the Oracle9i Recovery Manager User's Guide:

Quote:

The filename of the default library is operating system specific. On UNIX, the library filename is $ORACLE_HOME/lib/libobk.so, with the extension name varying according to platform: .so, .sl, .a, and so forth. On Windows NT the library is named %ORACLE_HOME%\bin\orasbt.dll.

Best regards.

I want to use rman backup from oracle 9.2.0.1.0 on the tape device. my tape device is hp and as a software manager , I use Veritas Backup Exec Ver:8.6 I receive following error :

RMAN-03009: failure of allocate command on c1 channel
ORA-19554: error allocating device, device type: SBT_TAPE, device
name:
ORA-27211: Failed to load Media Management Library

I couldn't find any orasbt.dll in my server . Does Veritas Backup Exec Ver 8.6 create any MML after installing software in oracle 9.2.0.1.0.

Did you also install the Veritas NetBackup Database Extensions for Windows NT?

When you do, the installer should create an orasbt.dll file in your Windows System 32 directory.

Best regards.

I only installed the Netbackup 8.6 in my os windows 2000 server. Does Veritas NetBackup Database Extensions are separate installer ?

Please help.

Yes, it is an optional component that needs to be installed separately. Not sure if it's licensed separately as well, maybe you should contact Veritas (http://www.veritas.com) to verify.

Best regards.
