Hi girish,

I'm new to this forum.

I'm currently testing restore via rman on a different platform.

The rman backup full database was performed on 10G Solaris 32bit and want to restore on Linux Platform. I'm encountering some errors rman 06172. Do you have any article pertaining to this restore. Please assist.

You cannot do it.
RMAN is platform specific.
When different operating systems are involved , Export / Import is the only way.

Since you are using Oracle 10g, go with TTS.
