Hi ,

I intend on using RMAN ( well HP Data protector with RMAN) to backup our Oracle DB , Control Files and Archive Logs.

But what is the general feeling towards backing up Oracle Forms & associated files?

Can a "hot" backup of these occur with the Apps Services up?

What are the core areas that need to be backed up , other than the DB ( apart from config files)

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Stephen

RMAN look only into database files.
to backup your application code/configuration/Forms/reports etc, you have to rely on other conventional backup tools.

Yes.

As a rule of thumb though , are these files , files that change , so maybe back them up once a week or so?

I intend on running a full backup on a weekly basis and incremental on a daily basis....
