i had installed oracle 9i enterprise edition rel 2 in one system , i typed in command promt
RMAN
its got the rman prompt
there i typed RMAN> connect target
connected to target database :Magic<Dbid=129283912>
using this target database control file instead of recovery catalog
then i typed
shutdown immediate;
startup mount
backup database;
alter database open
every thing finished , i want to store the data backed by RMAN utility to another disk (harddisk/ cd rom) , where i ll get the data .... when ever there is a corupted database i ll recover from the hdd or cdrom ...
plz help me
