hi all
we are using oracle 8i on windows 2000 before few days my c drive is crashed so we have reinstall os.... my oracle was installed in drive o
like this
o:\oracle\ora81\
o:\oracle\admin\pfile,udump,cdump,bdump
o:\oracle\oradata\dbf files,controlfiles and redolog files
r:\oracle\oradata\rbs
so how could i restore my db...???
is any of this option will work
1. reinstall software only and database will automaticaly up OR 2. reinstall oracle software and create databse and then import old dump(i dont want to use dump file bcoz it is very old) or 3.u suggest me

You can reinstall oracle
and after shutdown oracle,you replace the *.dbf,control file( in the control file,you should edit it according the current direct folder) ,*.log then you can startup. you must make sure the SID as the same as the before ,if not,you will edit the pfile
