We've got a server's system disk crashed and NT has been reinstalled, so has Oracle 8.1.5 which was installed on the system disk but with the datafiles
distributed on all other physical disks.
That means all the data is still there, the problem is how to make the new installed Oracle to recognize them.
I've tried to startup a new instance using the same initial parameter file and control files, at first the instance was running but no data of previous system can be seen.
I have all the Control files,DBF Files, Redo Files.
But how do I get the data back ???

Thanks,
Dhiraj

I have tried this is personal oracle.
Copy the exisiting control files, redo log files, dbf files in the same specified location, where there earlier. Overwrite the existing one (newly created with the old one).

You will not even require to create the user.
But keep one thing in mind that files,SID every other thing should be like previous database.
